Africa is referred to as the "Dark Continent" due to being the last continent influenced by Western civilization. It contains vast natural resources and wildlife, including 98% of diamond mines and 55% of gold mines. to feel the influence of
Western civilization
 considered as a
backward continent
 as large as the US,
Western Europe, India,
and China put together
AFRICA
 has 1/5 of the entire land
surface of the globe
 contains 98% of the diamond
mines and 55% of the gold
mines in the world
 produces 2/3 of the world’s
supply cocoa and 3/5 of palm oil
 has immense reserve of water
power
NATIONAL PARKS
IN AFRICA
 National parks are places where wild animals roam
around freely without wires or cages and people have
to remain safely enclosed in cars and trucks.
 The parks are very extensive, some over forty square
miles.
 There are two rules to follow when in national parks:
1. Never get out of your car.
2. Never use, fire off, discharge, or explode any kind
of fire arm

 Poetry types include narrative epic, occupational
verse, ritual verse, and praise poems for rulers or
prominent people.
 Also recited but most often sung are love songs,
work songs, children’s songs, epigrams, and riddles.
