AFRICA: The Dark Continent

Africa is referred to as the "Dark Continent" due to being the last continent influenced by Western civilization. It contains vast natural resources and wildlife, including 98% of diamond mines and 55% of gold mines. National parks in Africa allow wildlife to roam freely while keeping visitors safely enclosed in vehicles, with rules to not exit cars or discharge firearms. Examples include a park outside Nairobi with 14,000 animals and Albert National Park in Congo. African art, music, and literature are often closely associated with religion and oral traditions involving drums, call-and-response, and praise singers.
