There are many kinds of machines. Some machines
are simple, others are not. But all machines help
us do things we may not able to do on our own.
COMPUTERS ARE MACHINES
A computer is considered as one of the most
important machines in man’s life. It is a useful
machine that can do many wonderful things.
In order to help us, computers work with letters,
numbers, pictures, and many other things. We can
learn and have fun using the computer.
COMPUTERS ARE EVERYWHERE

Computers help us do many things that we may not be


able to do on our own. In schools many teachers use
computers to make new lessons.
Engineers use computers to help them design
cars, buildings, and many others.
Artist use computers
to add special
effects to movies.

Computers in music.
Stores use computers to know how many things
have been sold.
Doctors use computers to research and learn
about the patient’s condition.
Government workers can use computers to keep
pictures and other information of individuals.
Scientists use computers to help them do long
calculations and weather updates.

programs.

1. Click the Start button of Windows

2. Select Shutdown or Turn Off button


3. A Turn Off computer dialog box
appears on the screen. Select Turn Off
option.

4. Turn Off the computer by pressing


the power button.

5. Safely unplug the computer.

PROPER CARE OF COMPUTERS
Always keep the computer free from
dust. Wipe away dust that has settled
on the monitor, keyboard, and mouse
with a soft cloth.

Never spray your monitor or any other


computer part with glass cleaner.

If your hands are damp or wet, dry

ISP-It is short for Internet Service Provider. An ISP


is a company that gives Internet connections to its
clients.

Browser – It is a computer program that lets you “surf”


the Internet or view the WEB. To “surf” is to search
for information.
A broadband connection is faster, but it is not available
in all areas. Telephone and cable companies provide this
connection.
