Psychoanalysis: Uncovering The Mysteries of The Unconscious Mind

Psychoanalysis is a method of treatment and theory that focuses on the unconscious mind. It posits that unconscious thoughts, feelings, desires and memories influence behavior. There are three major theories: 1) psychosexual development theory outlines stages of libido development from birth to adulthood, 2) personality structure theory describes the id, ego and superego, 3) personality dynamics theory examines how defenses mechanisms like repression and sublimation influence behavior. Psychoanalysis provides an in-depth perspective on psychopathology but lacks empirical evidence and its concepts are difficult to measure.

of 3 major theories namely:

1 THEORY OF PSYCHOSEXUAL DEVELOPMENT

2 THEORY OF PERSONALITY STRUCTURE

3 THEORY OF PERSONALITY DYNAMICS

The conscious mind contains all of the thoughts, memories, feelings,
10% and wishes of which we are aware at any given moment. It is usually
easy to retrieve them whenever they are needed.

THE PRECONSCIOUS
The preconscious consists of anything that could potentially
30% be brought into the conscious mind. Sometimes it cannot tell
what is reality and what is imagined, it only takes what you
want and emotionalize.

UNCONSCIOUS MIND
The unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings,

thoughts, urges, and memories that are outside
of our conscious awareness. The unconscious
contains contents that are unacceptable or
unpleasant, such as feelings of pain, anxiety, or
conflict.
