Pressing Defects: BY A.Ilakkiya Priya (14texa06) II-M.sc TAD

Pressing defects occur when unwanted creases or wrinkles remain or improper creases are formed during the pressing process. Some common pressing defects include burn or scorch marks from excessive heat, glaring shine marks from too much pressure or heat, press marks that remain after pressing, products that are packaged while still moist after steam pressing, and seams that are not properly aligned when a center leg crease is specified. Proper pressing is important to produce a smooth, lustrous appearance and remove unwanted creases from garments.
