Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

The document outlines a hazard identification and risk assessment study conducted for an oil and gas company's (SPDC) new gas project. It describes the objectives, methodology, hazards identified, and risk levels associated with well casing and cementing. Several high and extreme risks were found. The conclusion recommends managing hazards through advanced technologies, surveys, and minimizing costs and delays to improve safety and project success.

CONCLUSION
• The hazards associated with drilling involve the subsurface,
mechanical, and operational aspects that have economic,
environmental, and safety consequences.
• The effects of these hazards found in casing and cementing
have implications on the project completion, economic
performance, and professional reputation.
• Managing and mitigating the casing and cementing hazards
found is an important aspect of engineering and geological
projects.
• The management often requires advanced technologies and
predrilling surveys. When evaluating the success of drilling
projects, it is necessary to view them in terms of timely
completions, in a safe manner, using the available
technology while minimizing overall costs.
