BACKGROUND
What is Social Culture Means
•Social cultural means common traditions, habits,
pattern of living and beliefs present in a
population that lives in one area. These social
and cultural dimensions are silently undermining
and damaging the status and rights of woman at
every level
NURSING
Nursing encompasses
autonomous and
collaborative care of
individuals of all
ages, families, groups
and communities,
sick or well and in all
settings.

The Nursing Profession in Pakistan
 Globally nursing not attract many females
as carrier in Pakistan.
 Pakistan society perceives nursing as a
inferior profession.
 Nursing ranks much lower in status than
medicine.

 The shortage of nurses has been a continue
challenge for the nursing profession in many
countries including Pakistan.
 The WHO (2004) statistics show that Pakistan
has 4.6 nurses and 6.9 physicians per 10000
population.
 The nurse to patient ratio is as low 1:50
 There is a shortage of 1 million nurses in
country. (Dawn review 2019)

image of nursing profession.

DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
Three THQ public sector hospitals within
the regional context of Sargodha (Punjab)
Pakistan.
An only female staff nurse, head nurses,
midwifes.
Only the social and cultural issues will
be considered for the purpose of the
research.

be conduct, to explore the nursing

 The study will be conducted in limited
time of 18 weeks after approval of
synopsis.

INSTRUMENT FOR THE STUDY
 Questioner will be used as a research tools for
collecting data from the respondents.
 Questioner will be used to collect their
information regarding the following variables.
1. Issues from a religious perspective
2. Media portrayals and gender issues
3. Issues from a marriage settlement
PREPARATION OF THE
RESEARCH TOOL
Preparation of the questioner for
interview will be done by
searching different books and
related materials and with experts
discussion in the fields and with
the consultation of the supervisor.
PILOT TESTING
 Pilot testing will be done before the
conduct of research on nurses of nearest
public sectors hospital, in order to
determine the validity of the questioners.
 The question will be further simplified
and reorganized.
 Reliability of the questioner will be
checked.
ETHICAL
CONSIDERATIONS
Study will be started after approval
of synopsis from IRB. Informed
written consent will be obtained
from every participant and data so
collected will be kept confidential.
