Radio Mirchi

Bangalore is the third largest city in India with a population of over 6.5 million people. It is a major economic hub known as the "Silicon Valley of India" for its thriving IT industry. Bangalore has a high literacy rate and is an educational center. The population includes migrants from various parts of South India and 5% expatriates. English, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu are commonly spoken languages. During the phase 1 of radio privatization, Radio City and All India Radio launched stations in Bangalore. Phase 2 saw the entry of several new private FM stations catering to various language audiences.

• Silicon valley of India for its IT & Software industry
• 4th largest & fastest growing market with highest per capita income
across the country
• 2nd highest literacy rate of 83% and one of the major educational hubs in

• Characterized by large young working population comprising migrants

DIVERSE LANGUAGES

aggressively bid for the FM stations

a) Owned by Sun Network, an establish media company
b) USP - media pedigree with presence in television, print and FM
radio businesses
c) In TV- telecasted programs in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada
