Get any piece of paper
and ball pen.
Write your month number
from your birthday.
For example, if your
birthday is June then your
month number is 6.
Then, multiply by 5.
Next, add 6.
Multiply the total by 4.
Add 9.
Multiply by 5 once again.
Then, add your birth date. If
you were born on the 14th,
then add 14.
And last, subtract 165.
You will have the month and day
you were born.
What have you notice in the
trick?
In mathematics you just have
to follow the instruction for
you to get the correct answer.
REVIEW
LEARNING COMPETENCIES
CODE- M7NS-Ic-d-1

At the end of the lesson, the learner

is expected to perform fundamental
operations on integers.
LEARNING GOALS AND TARGETS
At the end of the lesson, the learner is
expected to:
a. Multiply integers
b. Apply multiplication of integers in
solving problems
c. Value the concept of multiplication in
daily life
KEY VOCABULARIES
 Integers
 Positive and Negative Numbers
 Positive Integers
 Negative Integers
 Number Line
 Multiplication
 Multiplicand
 Multiplier
 Product
 Opposite
Integers – are the set of numbers consisting
of the set of whole numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, …),
zero (0) and their negatives (…, -3, -2, -1).
It is a number that can be written without a
fractional component.
For example, 21, 4, 0, and −2048 are integers,
while 9.75, 1/5, and √2 are not.
 Positive and Negative
Numbers- In mathematics,
a negative number is a
real number that is less than
zero. Negative numbers
represent opposites.
If positive represents a
movement to the
right, negative represents a
movement to the left.
 Positive Integers-a whole
number greater than zero, but
not a fraction or decimal fraction.
 Negative Integers-The
negative integers are commonly
denoted as Z. It is represented
by putting '-' sign before the
number.
For each positive integer, there is
a negative integer, and these
integers are called opposites
It is shown to the left of zero on
a number line.
 Number Line – a line in which
points all correspond to numbers.
Multiplication – often referred to as ‘fast adding’.
It is the repeated addition of the same number
4 X 3 is the same as saying
3 + 3 + 3 + 3. Parenthesis ( ) and a dot • is also
used in multiplying.
Multiplicand – a number to be multiplied by
another. Factor X Factor = Product, where
the first factor is also called a multiplicand.
Multiplier – the number which is multiplied times
the multiplicand.
Factor X Factor = Product where the second
factor is also called a multiplier.
Factor – a number that will divide into another
number exactly. (The factors of 10 are 1,2 and 5)
Product- the answer when you multiply two (or
more) numbers. Factor X Factor = Product
MULTIPLICATION OF INTEGERS

(4) (-3) = -12

MULTIPLICAND MULTIPLIER PRODUCT
FACTOR FACTOR PRODUCT
Opposite- numbers are numbers that, when placed on
a number line, are the exact same distance away from
the 0, but on opposite sides, or
in opposite directions. They look the same except for
their signs.
