Voting System Using Face Recognition

This document describes a fingerprint-based voting system that aims to provide a more secure and efficient voting process. It discusses the existing paper ballot and electronic voting systems that have disadvantages like being time-consuming and requiring a lot of manpower. The proposed system uses fingerprint authentication to allow only registered voters to cast their votes. It has a simple architecture and aims to reduce polling time. The system was developed using .NET for the front-end and SQL Server for the back-end, along with a fingerprint sensor for verification. It allows voters to view candidates and cast their secret votes, while the admin can manage voter and candidate lists to ensure only authenticated voters can vote.

ABSTRACT
 Fingerprint Voting System was implemented with the Arduino technology. In
this System a voter can
 poll his vote easily. In this database server all voters’ information was stored to
register in this system, the
 voter should fill a registration form with the help of a user id and password.
This information will be checked
 by the database server. Because all the information about the voter would be
already there is anything wrong,
 the system will not allow the voter to poll his or her vote. This system is helpful
to the voter’s decreases the
 time of voting process also. It is more Secured way. Fingerprint is an important
identity of the user. Fingerprint
 Voting System is user-friendly. It has simple architecture, responses very
quickly manner, It reduce the polling
 time, Easy to carrying to polling center from the polling box, Reduce the staff of
voting center, It provide easy
 and accurate counting without any troubles.
INTRODUCTION
 “Vote” means to choose from a list, to determine or to elect.
 In our project we have used fingerprint for the purpose of
voter identification or authentication. As the thumb
impression of every individual is unique.
 Traditional voting systems like Paper ballot and Electronic
Voting Systems have several disadvantages.
 Voting systems as such are time consuming and inconvenient
as all the voters must be present in a location at a time.
 An excess of manpower is required for the operation to be
accomplished.
 The calculation of results might not be accurate since it is
carried out manually.
INTRODUCTION

Voting system contain three actors:

 VOTER
 CANDIDATE
 ADMIN

measuring and analyzing biological data.
 Biometrics refers to technologies that measure
and analyze human body characteristics, such as
DNA,

EXISTING SYSTEM

PAPER BALLOT AND ELECTRONIC

VOTING:
 In this method person can select candidate and
casting vote by paper where allocate booth.
 Traditional voting systems like Paper ballot and
Electronic Voting Systems have several
disadvantages. Voting systems as such are time
consuming and inconvenient as all the voters
must be present in a location at a time.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
 We are going to select voting system by
FINGER PRINT.
 It very secure.only authenticated person can
casting vote.
 Ease of transportation due to its compact
size.
 voter also view available candidates.
SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
REQUIREMENTS
 In our project Front end using .NET(C #
language) and Back end using SQLSERVER.
 Hardware using FINGER PRINT MODULE.
ARCHITECTURE DIAGRAM FOR
VOTER
ADMIN PANEL
 Admin maintain the detail of both voter list and
candidate list.
 Check only authenticated person can cast vote.
VOTING PHASE
 Election is start voter enter user name and
password automatically open camera
 Admin check face view the available candidate
then voter select their candidate and cast vote
 Once person voted admin remove they details
in list.
COUNTING AND RESULTING
 Voter casted voting automatically count
increases.
 Finally result announced.
OTHER APPLICATIONS
 Organizations
 College voting
 TV shows
MOTIVATION
 Elections are the essential part of every democratic society and
organization.
 Hence it is very important to hold up as many elections as
possible.
 Unfortunately, elections come with big administrative efforts and
costs.
 In order to circumvent the drawbacks of conventional “physical
elections”, a lot of people suggested the use of cheaper online
voting systems.
 Today a lot of alternative e-voting systems have been proposed.
 Some of them are already used.
 Unfortunately most of them do not even fulfil the most basic
security requirements, whereas other systems are provably secure,
but completely impractical.
 Furthermore a few e-voting scandals destroyed the peoples trust
into these voting schemes
CONCLUSION
 This voting system helps everybody to cast their votes
without any problem.
 Voting application will increase the percentage of voting.
 Manual counting is not required.
 So by this we will get the very prominent, clear and fast
result.
 By using this newly developed system we can overcome
many problems of existing system.
 This system is more efficient than the existing one.
 Application voting allows the voter to vote from
anywhere in his state or out of state
