Why GREEN?
Processes & systems produce results that meet the needs of the
institution & society while making the best & wise use of resources;
Good governance accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, integrity, consensus &
participation are its key elements

Research-oriented Learning revolves around inquiry, critical thinking, creativity & innovation
all in pursuit of knowledge that offers solutions to local & global problems

Facilitates the implementation of programs & services geared towards


Extension-driven empowering communities especially the poor & marginalized; integration
of Service Learning where community-based service activities are paired
with structured classroom preparation & student reflection

Education for Sustainable Defined by the United Nations as education that encourages changes in
knowledge, skills, values & attitudes to enable a more sustainable,
Development equitable & just society for all

Nation building divisions & injustice in society, & promoting the advancement of

Why 2030?
Because our institution is committed to Education for
Sustainable Development (ESD) as evidenced by the
launching of Green CHMSC in 2012.
Education for Sustainable Development today is in
pursuit of the realization of the UN Sustainable
Development Goals targeted to be achieved by 2030.
CHMSC wants itself to be relevant and responsive to
the global challenges of a transformed world, thus
anchors the realization of its vision to 2030 alongside
with the SDGs.

- We are committed not only to do things the
right way, but most importantly to always seek
to do what is right

of others especially in times of distress,
pain and suffering coupled with an urgent
desire to be of help to alleviate such
