Objectives of Pilot Face-to-Face
Overall objectives of the limited face-to-face classes
1. Deliver quality basic education in a safe learning
environment to learners in low-risk areas
2. Address the teaching and learning gaps encountered in the
distance learning modalities

3. Assess the viability of the safe reopening of schools in low-
risk areas
4. Identify strategies, key considerations, and resource
requirements for the effective and efficient transition of the
learners fro distance learning to expanded face-to-face
classes.

Particulars Details
Participating • Maximum of 50 participating schools per region will be considered for the pilot
schools/Community implementation of F2F classes shall be representative of Kindergarten and Elementary, JHS,
Learning Centers SHS: small, large schools, urban schools, rural schools, SPED, ALIVE, IPEd, MG; and five
CLCs included.
• Public and private schools ay participate but shall meet eligibility criteria
• If the number of nominated schools exceeds 50, the Regional Director shall select the 50
most ready schools
• Excess schools shall be prioritized for expanded implementation
Number of classes One (1) class per grade level in a small school, max of three (3) classes pre grade level in a
per grade level medium school and maximum of five (5) classes per grade level in large school.
Number of learners Depending on the size of the classroom (a 7x9 meters classroom can accommodate a
in a class maximum of 20 learners). For smaller classroom size, 16 is recommended to maintain
physical distancing.
Class schedule • F2F classes will be implemented in blended approach (combination of F2F in school and
distance learning delivery).
• Participating School shall determine the most appropriate combination and schedule of
classes.
• Learners must only stay half day in school, either morning or afternoon. Lunch must be
taken in respective home regardless of learners’ schedule.

participating school for the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes.

Justification for Nomination
For private schools that wish to participate in the pilot implementation of
face-to-face classes, the following requirements must be complied with:
• Submit formal letter addressed to Regional Director expressing interest
to be part of pilot face to face.
• Regional Office shall administer the readiness assessment tool to
determine readiness.
• All private schools who passed the readiness assessment shall be include
in the list of ready schools; however, regional director shall decide how
many and which private school shall be included in the pilot
implementation.
• No private schools can implement face to face classes without
authorization from Regional Director.
• The private schools shall submit a report on lessons and
recommendations after the conduct of the pilot implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Parents
Before leaving home for school…
• Check temperature. If temp is 37 °C and above, learner and
parents must stay home and get medical help, when necessary
• Ensure that learner took a meal and vitamin C before going to
school.
• Ensure that face mask and protective face shield are properly
worn before walking or boarding a vehicle.
• Ensure extra face mask and pocket alcohol are available I
learner’s pocket or bag.
• Mobile phone inside the bag is allowed for emergency purposes
(encouraged but non-required)
Roles and Responsibilities of School Authority
While in school…
· Learners, parents, school personnel with 37 °C temp and above shall not be
allowed to enter the school and shall be advised to go home or seek medical
attention
· Enforce strict no physical contact policy between and among learners, teachers,
school personnel and parents/ guardians while in school
· Enforce orderly, properly scheduled beginning and end of class procedure
· Canteen operation is off limits to learners and parents
· Ensure enough supply of face masks, face shields, vitamin C, alcohol, test kits,
soaps, thermometer
· Ensure hand washing facility, health clinic and toilets are functional
· Provide space for parents while waiting arranged for social distancing. Parents are
not allowed to roam around the school premises. They shall stay in the
designated space for parents/ guardians
· Regular classroom disinfection must be undertaken with LGU and partners
· Ensure any presence of health personnel in school
Roles and Responsibilities of LGU/Community
While in transit to school and after school…
·LGU shall formulate local policies of managing traffic during
school days. Enforce rerouting when necessary.
·LGU to ensure availability of medical personnel and standby
vehicle for use when need or emergency
·Only private vehicles or regulated public vehicles will nbe allowed
to fetch the learner
·School premises must be secured and shall be free from
bystanders, transient vendors of foods, tricycles operators and
other non-essential presence of individuals

Per instruction from USec Malaluan, the list of first batch of schools that will implement face to face
once allowed is now being prepared. Regions with 50 or less nominated schools will be included (with
LGU concurrence). However, Regions with more than 50 nominated schools shall select 50 schools for
inclusion in the first batch. It is requested that the list of schools shall be arranged by order of
priority.
