Course Description and Objectives
Description :
The course is designed to enable students to analyze texts of intercultural communication and to be competent
in communicating interculturally. It provides them with knowledge of intercultural communication, and skills
to analyze texts of intercultural communication, and skills to communicate interculturally.

Objectives :
Ability to make a right decision when facing intercultural communication encounters.
Ability to give the right solutions when facing intercultural communication encounters.
Ability to show responsibilities in the intercultural work fields.
Ability to analyze verbal and non-verbal intercultural communication texts.
Ability to analyze intercultural communication texts in business.

 EVALUATION 1 (material presentation):
 In groups, recorded and uploaded to youtube.
 Summarize the material and present the important points to the class
(the presentation will be 15-20 mins max)
 The class should ask questions
 Scoring-material presentation: presentation skill, handling question
skill, giving question
 Send the PPT/ any visual aid to my email [email protected], D-1
at 11 am for every week.
 EVALUATION 2 and 3 (Final paper):
 In groups
 Taking data from movie which represents a country
 One paper should be finished in 2 weeks, then students present in front of the
class
 Structure: a. Introduction: description of the country and the movie, and the aim
of the paper, b. Analysis, c. Conclusion
 Scoring-Paper: structure and content
 Scoring-final presentation: presentation skill, handling question skill, giving
question

Attendance

 Attendance is defined as no more than 3 absences in


order to your good comprehension of the course
material. You are expected to come on time. I will
only tolerate as much as 15 minutes-lateness,
otherwise you’ll be considered absent. I’ll let you
know in advance if I have to miss any session &
arrange to have the session rescheduled.
Activity in the Class

 No cell phone interruptions, no t-shirt, and no sandals


during the class, always bring your textbooks, or you can
likely be asked to leave.
 Students are expected to prepare themselves accordingly
before the class.

Online Class Rules

1. All session will use skype/zoom/ gmeet. During the


session, ill take scores so that the signal strength is a
crucial factor.
2. In every session, ill read the attendance list in the
beginning and check all participants in the end.
3. The video should be turned on and the mic should be
muted except when you need to.
