Moral development is the process through which
children develop proper attitudes and behaviors toward other people in society, based on social and cultural norms, rules, and laws Moral development is a concern for every parent.
Teaching a child to distinguish right from
wrong and to behave accordingly is a goal of parenting. Moral reasoning is a thinking process with the objective of determining whether an idea is right or wrong. What something is intended to accomplish Hence helping to understand whether the direction we are taking is “right” or “wrong”. It is the reasoning process by which human behaviors, institutions, or policies are judged to be in accordance with or in violation of moral standards. LAWRENCE KOLHBERG (1927-1987)
Was an American psychologist who extended Jean Piaget's work
in cognitive reasoning into adolescence and adulthood.
He felt that moral development was a slow process and evolved
over time.
He developed six stages of moral development.
Individuals made progress by mastering each stage, one at a time.
