HOW TO USE DEDUCTION IN CLASS

1. What?

Deduction is to obtain rules by analyzing the examples in the book.

2. Steps:
• 1. Analyze the sentence; is it affirmative, negative or interrogative?
• 2. See the differences and similarities.
• 3. Identify the order of the words.
• 4. Get the rule by identifying the subject, auxiliary, verb and complement.

3. Why?

You can use this strategy to understand the rules and create your own examples.
Grammar Focus
• Making a list is a good way of remembering things.
• I am very bad at remembering where I put my things.

• Analize:
• Why are some words in “ing” form?
• Are they in present, past or future?
• Do they have a subject before like all verbs?

Tips for remembering information.
1. Making a list is a good way of remembering irregular verbs.
2. Creating a mental map can help you memorize biology topics
Ex: names of bones.
3. Doing physical exercise once a day helps my concentration and
memory.
4. Repeating and repeating can help you memorize capital cities.
5. Drawing can help me to memorize verbs or parts of the human
body.
6. Eating chocolate helps me memorize many things.
7. Watching series in NETFLIX can help me to learn and memorize
the new vocabulary in English.
8. Singing can help people memorize a list of animals.
9. Sleeping only 4 hours helps people’s memories.
10. Drinking alcohol can help people memorize more things.
TASK TIME! Discussion Time!
1. Student A reads the first sentence.
2. He/she says if he/she “totally agrees,
partially agrees, or totally disagrees and
explain his/her reasons. Give examples to
defend your arguments.
3. Then, student A ask his/her friend asks:

4. Student B reads the second question and so

5. In the end, the whole class will analyze
