Interpreting GeoHazard Maps

The document discusses interpreting geological maps and identifying areas prone to different natural hazards. It provides the following key information: - Red areas on maps indicate high susceptibility to rain-induced landslides and flooding, and people should be alert and ready to evacuate. - Yellow areas indicate low susceptibility to landslides, while green areas have moderate susceptibility. Pink and violet areas show susceptibility levels for flooding. - The document instructs on identifying areas of high, moderate, and low susceptibility to different natural hazards based on map colors in order to determine safety and plan appropriate responses.

What are the different colors of areas prone to

flooding and what actions should be taken
corresponding to each of these colors?
FOR RAIN-INDUCED LANDSLIDE
PRONE AREAS, THERE ARE THREE
COLORS:
Yellow: low susceptibility-less likely to be
experience landslide; Be prepared.
Green: moderately susceptible; be cautious.
Red: highly susceptible; Be alert and ready
to evacuate.
FOR FLOOD-PRONE AREAS:

Pink: Low to moderately susceptible.

Be cautious.
Violet: Highly susceptible; be alert
and ready to evacuate.
I. Where are the areas of high susceptibility to landslides? What can
you conclude regarding the topography of such areas?
II. Where are the areas of moderate susceptibility to landslides?
III. Where are the areas of low susceptibility to landslides?
IV. Where are the areas of high susceptibility to flooding? What can you
conclude regarding the topography of such areas?
V. Where are the areas of moderate to low susceptibility to flooding?
