ABSTRACT

Mankind has always strived to give life like qualities to its artifacts in an attempt to find substitutes for himself to
carry out his orders and also to work in a hostile environment. The popular concept of a robot is of a machine that
looks and works like a human being. The industry is moving from current state of automation to Robotization, to
increase productivity and to deliver uniform quality .

Today pick and place robots are widely used in automobile and manufacturing industries to perform the
repetitive and tedious jobs to increase the production cycle rates. We have used Raspberry Pi as the controller , that
is used for stable functioning and robustness. Program is written in python which is loaded into the controller. The
controller will receive inputs that are processed by python libraries. A camera module is placed on robotic arm and
location of the object is tracked by the controller. There is a predefined home position for the object to be placed.
INTRODUCTION
Robotics deals with the design of robots their manufacture and applications. Robotics gained more importance in the

modern era since it require less cost to operate than a human labour to do the same task, also once programmed robot

will perform better than an experienced human labour. Now a days industry is turning towards computer based

monitoring of tasks mainly due to the need for the increased productivity and delivery of the final products with

maximum quality. Due to the inflexibility and generally high cost of hard computerization systems lead to the use of

industrial robots.

Once programmed robots will perform needed tasks repeatedly in identical means. Robots play important role

in repetitive jobs that are boring, stressful, or labor- intensive for humans. Robots are progressively marching into our

daily life activities. In the future, robots can act as caretaker, entertainers, medics, companions, troopers and even traffic

police. There is a misconception with people that robot and automation eliminate manufacturing jobs but actually they

create more desirable jobs, like engineering, management, programming, and equipment maintenance and also free up

manpower.
