CASE STUDY ON PSYCHOLOGY OF A PERSON
Manjula Srivastav was the Marketing Head for Blue Chips, a computer products
firm. She greatly contributed to the success of the company but still had the
perception that she had to consistently fight male prejudice.
After a take over by an industrial group, Anand Prakash was appointed as the new
MD. He promoted Harish Naik from executive assistant to Vice President
(exports), within two months, against which Manjula made a formal protest.
Prakash offered Srivastav the post of General Manager (public affairs) keeping in
mind her experience in customer relations & her connections with dealers.
Rather, Manjula expected to be appointed as Vice President (domestic marketing).
She accused Prakash for being unfair and prejudiced as she was female. Prakash on
the other hand, considered her stature in the organization and her skills, which he
thought, made her the ideal person for the job.
