ICT For Development in Nepal

Nepal has seen significant growth in ICT usage over recent years, with internet penetration reaching 36.7% and over 38 million mobile users. However, connectivity remains better in urban versus rural areas. Various sectors have embraced ICT, including e-government through numerous government websites and apps; e-agriculture through apps helping farmers; e-business through digital payment methods and online shopping; e-learning through educational platforms and libraries; and e-health through telemedicine apps. While ICT for development is growing, more development is still needed, especially expanding e-health services beyond urban areas.
