A compound shape is a shape that is made up of simple shapes (e.g. Rectanges,
triangles, parallelograms, trapezium and circles.
1. Divide the compound shape into simple shapes.
2. Work out the area of each simple shape.
3. Add or subtract the areas of the simple shapes to get the area you need.
