A FILIPINO TRAIT
INTRODUCTION

▫ Pakikisama refers to an interpersonal relationship


where people are friendly with each other and is a
typical personality trait of the Filipino people. It is
expressed in their private lives, public workplaces,
and relation- ships with neighbors.
PAKIKISAMA TRAIT

▫ It comes from the word “sama” , which means to “go


along”

▫ yielding to the will of the leader or majority so as to


make the group’s decision unanimous
PAKIKISAMA, A CORE CHARACTERISTIC
OF A FILIPINO
▫ Pakikisama entails a genuine intrinsic appreciation of
togetherness. Group harmony and unity is valued

▫ People want to get along rather than stand out. If


progress is achieved, it is for the entire group and no
one should be left behind.

Different family houses lie within close proximity,
making it easy for regular visits between family
