 INTRODUCTION

• A hand scanner is an electronic device that performs the task of scanning documents just like a flat bed scanner, but it is
physically handheld. It is used for scanning a physical document and converting it electronically to be displayed on
computers or devices attached to the store, edit, and transfer the same.

We use hand Scanner for scan barcode ( 1 D & 2 D types )

 Types of Hand Scanner
Two types:

1 –Wired type hand scanner (used in Cubizone)

2- Wireless type hand scanner (used in PTL ,Cubizone R-thru and Dynamic
profiler )

 BRIEF DESCRIPTION

1. WIRELESS TYPE HANDSCANNER –

Wireless type hand scanner is used to read the barcode print on parcel sortation by arm sorter , then manually scan the
barcode with hand scanner to put it in defined PTL bay or it is used to login the login id barcode paste on the PTL bay. It
consist of following main accessories such as hand scanner , cradle , adaptor and serial communication cable – RS232 TYPE.
2. WIRED TYPE CUBIZON-RECO HANDSCANNER –
Wired type Cubizone hand scanner is used to calibrate the Cubizone machine with the help of printed barcode of defined
dimension and weight or it can be used to read the barcode printed on parcel placed on Cubizone R-eco machine with the help
of cubizon software. It consist of following main accessories such as hand scanner , stand , adaptor and serial communication
cable – RS232 TYPE.

 TEACHING PROCEDURE

• There are few necessary barcode step required for teaching of hand scanner

STEP 1:- First scan the barcode

place on cradle

STEP 2:- Then scan default barcode given in

manual

STEP 3:-Then scan the standard barcode image

STEP 4:- After step 3 scan the 3 barcodes

one by one to configure the hand scanner

• TEACHING PROCEDURE FOR CUBIZON - REC0
WIRED TYPE HANDSCANNER-

Step 1:- Scan the factory defaults

1. POWER SUPPLY : We need 220 VAC supply for Hand

Scanner cradle standard adapter. Serial to Hand
Ethernet scanner
2. SIGNAL : For communicate with PLC we use serial Converter Side
connection (RS-232) type connection or Ethernet Card Side
connection .

 SOFTWARES

We use below two software for set IP and check hand scanner data in case of
using converter card in PC:
1. USR-M0-V2.1.2.118
2. USR-TCP232-TEST
For Direct connect with PLC we use below software:

Realterm or Hyper Terminal

 SOFTWARE SETTINGS

Mostly used where CBS systems is installed, PTL .

Step 1:- first check the IP address of your laptop

• Step 2:- Open the software USR-MO

After that we got like this image on system.

Double Click on the default

 Step-3:- on clicking on the default IP(as per step2) we got below window on our screen
Now we have to enter design specific IP and local port, remote port and other customer specific
setting if any in this window.

Step 4:- FOR CHECK HAND SCANNER COMMUNICATION GO TO USER-
TCP232-TEST
 As you click on icon this software will
open(image of expended software)

Set protocol ”TCP Server””

Local host port as system ip
.
Then click on connect.

Hand scanner data will shown here.

We can check here if hand scanner is connected or not.

 REAL TERM SOFTWARE

Mostly used on dynamic profilers.

STEP-1:- Ensure the communication cable should be connected between the laptop and device.
• Search the device manager in the task bar of the laptop
• Click on the device manager following window will open as the image below

Note down the COM port from the device

manager and close the device manager
and open the real term software

Step 2:- Now open real term software

If device is not connected or USB cable/ blue converter cable is

faulty then following screen will open
