Walking Tour of York
Imagine a city with ancient Roman roots and a Viking past, where ancient city walls enclose a central area full of exciting
shops and great places to eat. Perfectly located half-way between London and Edinburgh, York is unlike any other English
city. This is one of England’s top ‘must-see’ cities, but if you decide to explore the city on your own, you may miss some
of its hidden secrets. To make sure you see all the best sights, we suggest taking a guided walking tour of the city. On this
tour, you follow your private guide through historic York and find out what makes the city special. This is a personal tour
for up to five people, so it’s ideal for families and groups of friends, and you will have the guide’s full attention if you
have any questions or special requests.

You meet your guide at the railway station and your walk begins along the banks of the River Ouse that runs
through the heart of the city. The guide will show you all the important historical buildings and take you on a walk round
the city’s walls, from which you get a great view.

The guided walking tour is a great way to start your visit to York where there’s always something different and exciting to
see. There are thirty world-class museums to visit and a thriving cultural scene. And that’s not all, there’s a festival
