Types of birds in Pakistan
 Birds are important part of this whole ecosystem
we call Nature.
 They are wonderful to watch, they spread seeds,
they are food for other species, they eat bugs,
mosquitoes.
 According to Pakistan mueusium of natural history
 In Pakistan we have 666 different recorded species
of birds, ranging from garden birds to water fowls,
raptors and migratory species which fly all the way
from Siberia to coastal line of Arabian Sea following
the Indus River.
 Birds are an extremely important part of any healthy
ecosystem and Pakistan is lucky to have a huge
diversity of native as well as migratory birds.
 Pakistan is a country rich in flora and fauna, as well
as natural topography and weather which is suitable
for native and migratory birds alike.
 No season of Pakistan is devoid of the chirps and
songs of birds – be it summers when native birds are
out in the skies in their full glory .
 During winters when thousands and thousands of
migratory birds come to stay in our beautiful country
from colder regions of Siberia and Russia.

all over the world.
 The smallest bird is hummingbird 5 cm in size, while
the largest one is ostrich of size2.75 m.
 In Pakistan so far 666 species have been recorded.

 The storm petrels are relatives


of the petrels and are the smallest
seabirds that feed on planktonic
crustaceans and small fish pick
from the surface.
There are 21 species worldwide and
1 species which occurs in Pakistan

 Darters are often called “snake
birds” because of their long thin neck
which gives a snake- like appearance
when they swim with their bodies
submerged.
 There are 4 species worldwide and 1
species which occurs in Pakistan.

 Flamingos are gregarious


Wading birds usually 3 to 5
feet(0.9 to1.5) tall found in both
the Western and Eastern
Hemisphere.
 There are 6 species worldwide
and 2 species which occur in
Pakistan.
