• AI (Artificial intelligence), a clever algorithm that mimics how human
markers would score, based on many responses.

• Test days are available almost every day, except Sunday (2 shift/ day)
• Likely to reuse the test content and task
9. Reliability data
• The error of measurement is related to the reliability of the test: a
smaller measurement error means higher reliability of test scores.

• They reported evidence to prove the construct validity of PTE
academic
• 3-stage development steps: specification, item writing training, peer
review.
• The construct validation procedures also included empirical validation
of data from two field tests.
• Deletion or edition will be made during each stage.

• Content for the questions is authentic (real-life situations in an academic
environment).

• Reading texts appropriate for PTE Academic, include study texts of


academic interest and texts related to all aspects of student life, including
lectures, which are genuine academic lectures, not actors reading scripts.

• Include non-native English accents.

response formats (items or prompts)

• Clear score guides and rubrics for writing and speaking.

• Writing and speaking response formats are authentic in academic

context.

• However, speaking formats lack real interaction.


13. Impact of the test

• Thousands of universities, colleges, and institutions accept PTE


academic score to give admission to international students in tertiary
level.

• The design of PTE Academic discourages cramming for the test and
instead requires test takers to become comfortable with the English
language. Conceivably, the test will contribute to a positive washback.
