BC Robotics

George Charles Devo invented the first industrial robot, the Unimate, in 1954. Since then, robots have increasingly been used across many business sectors. Robots are now widely used in automobile manufacturing, telecommunications, restaurants, agriculture, manufacturing, and the pharmaceutical industry to perform repetitive, intricate, or dangerous tasks. However, there are also some limitations to robots in business, such as higher upfront capital costs, lack of artificial intelligence, increased variable costs, and information storage constraints compared to specialized automated systems.

UTILIZING OF ROBOTS IN BUSINESS

MANAGEMENT
WHEN DID ROBOTS STARTED BEING HELPFUL IN
TERMS OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

 George Charles Devo invented the first industrial robot, the Unimate, in 1954

 Started implementing in industry and became commercially from 1970

 Due in increase in competition the sale for industrial robots has been developed

ROBOTS USED IN AUTOMOBILE
SECTOR
 The automotive manufacturing industry has long
been one of the quickest and largest adopters of
industrial robotic technology, and that continues to
this day.
 Robots are used in nearly every part of automotive
manufacturing in one way or another, and it remains
as one of the most highly automated supply chains in
the world.
ROBOTS USED IN TELECOMMUNICATION
SECTOR
 RPA boosts the capacity of existing workforces by
augmenting human abilities, allowing CSPs to reduce
costs, increase accuracy and quality, improve efficiency
and deliver a better customer experience.
 Specifically in the telecoms space, RPA can help to enable
network teams to find faults faster and maintain quality of
service; collate data for revenue forecasting, decision
making and network planning; provide a 360-degree view
of the customer to support call handlers; help operations
teams to manage and qualify alerts to improve efficiency.
 It can also ensure bills and invoices are processed
correctly to reduce pressure on contact centres and on the
human workforce – and free up time to focus on revenue
generation.
ROBOTS USED IN RESTAURANT

Now robots will take orders and serve food

instead of waiters. Yes, sounds strange but
true, as Odisha's smart city Bhubaneswar gets
it 1st Robo Chef Restaurant in Odisha.

 Earlier Chennai and Bengaluru had introduced smart

restraunts with robots machines imported from
China.
 The Robot Restaurant opened at the Infocity DLF
tower of Bhubaneswar claims to be the first
restaurant in Eastern India where two indigenously
developed robots
ROBOTS USED IN AGRICULTURE SECTOR

o Agriculture is quickly becoming an exciting

high-tech industry, drawing new
professionals, new companies and new
investors.
o The technology is developing rapidly, not
only advancing the production capabilities
of farmers but also advancing robotics and
automation technology as we know it.
o Agricultural robots automate slow,
repetitive and dull tasks for farmers,
allowing them to focus more on improving
overall production yields
ROBOTS USED IN MANUFACTURING
SECTOR
 Robotics are being used in many aspects of
manufacturing to help increase productivity and
efficiency while lowering production costs.
 Similar to the health care industry, many robots
in manufacturing collaborate with workers to
perform repetitive, monotonous, or intricate
tasks under the worker’s guidance and control.
 With these machines, precision is valued more
than speed, as is the ability to be reprogrammed
for specific tasks of different sizes and
complexities.
 Robotic manufacturing technology is also
becoming safer to operate. Cameras, sensors,
and automatic shut-off capabilities enable robots
to sense and stay clear of humans in the
workplace.
Robots used in Pharmaceutical Industry
VARIOUS USES OF HAVING ROBOTS IN PHARMACEUTICAL
INDUSTRY

 Efficiency and precision

 Fraudulent medications
 Packaging Operations
DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOTS IN
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
However, the robots and its applications has increased significantly but there are
some limitations in terms of they perform in automation system . Bespoke
automated system perform more faster and gives better result than robots.
