Causative Form

Teacher: Fábio Dutra

A causative é formada com

'have + object + past participle’

He had his jacket cleaned.

He didn't clean it himself.

The Causative Form

com do/does ou did no past simple

Peter had his phone stolen last night.

Did you have your camera fixed?

Em conversações informais podemos utilizar 'get’ ao invés de 'have‘

She's getting her hair done again.

É importante ter a ordem correta das
palavras

Na primeira frase, John

'John had his car repaired.’ providenciou para que
outra pessoa consertasse
'John had repaired his car.' seu carro.
-ing.

It's worth having his car repaired

He should have his car repaired.

Também usamos essa forma...

• Se quisermos saber quem fez a ação, podemos usar by

He’s having his tattoo done by one of the best experts in the city.

They’ve had their suitcases stolen at the airport.

Existem três verbos que devemos usar no causativo
