DISTINGUISHED
Traditionally, sociologist distinguish society from
culture by indicating that society refers to a large
group of people that form into a relatively
organized, self-sufficient, and enduring group while
culture consist of learned and shared ways of
acting, thinking and feeling that is, total way of life.
In a way, society and culture are representing two
sides of the same coin, meaning society refers to
group of people who share common culture while
culture refers to patterns or ways of group life.

Culture is a product of result of interactions
in a group. These interactions are
responses to the physical environment
surrounding them. These also reflect and
tell us of the patterns of relationship that
are present among the members.
CULTURE IS TRANSMITTED
Culture is transmitted either orally or by
writing from one generation to the next
within the same generation. The
transmission of culture can be done in a
number of ways, like limitation, suggestions,
by formal teaching, by reward and
punishments or by mass communication
and other similar ways of transmission.

Culture is an indispensable aspect in
life of a society. Culture serves as a
system and mechanism that assist
people in establishing and maintaining
the life of a community. Anyone born
into this world begins without
language, norms, idea, values, and
beliefs.
