What is Demand Forecasting?

• Based on historical data, trends, and knowledge, Forecasting is a common


statistical technique used to accurately predict future demand. (Hyndman &
Athanasopoulos 2018)

• In logistics, it is vital for business planning and future predictions and also
initiates the supply chain management push processes (Ivanov 2019)

• Important for AMZ sellers:


• Manage inventory effectively
• Utilize capital
• Identify opportunities and threats.
