Why Is Statistics Important?
So, you have to make decisions, right?

How do you make a decision? We use our gut some, but ideally, we
want it to be based on information. Data is important, because
sometimes our gut is very very wrong. But also, the more you
understand statistics, the better your gut feelings get.

First we have to learn how to gather information. If you gather


the information incorrectly, it’s worthless. If you’ve only asked
your parents or your best friend “does this dress suit to my
personality? or Am I Good Looking?” You’ve gotten worse than no
information, you have the potential for misinformation.
Why Is Statistics Important?
Once you learn how to collect good data, how do we organize it?
How do we summarize and describe it in a way that becomes
meaningful and easier to deal with? How do we visualize it?

Now that we have our information and we’ve organized it, what
conclusions can be drawn? A set of numbers can tell many
different stories, how do you make it tell the truth? What are
its limitations? What additional information do we need to make
our decision?

Course or Field Of Study
Draftsman does not just improve the aesthetics, it also makes it
more functional and ensures each space is utilized to its maximum
potential in a good way. The best design does not cost much. It
also accounts for the traffic flow. It improves the quality of
life.

If Draftsman wants to design you a house, they often start from


blank piece of paper, and they often rely on typical need/use for
a function which is based on statistics and dimensioning. 
Importance of Statistic in my
Course or Field Of Study
To maximize the useful space, draftsman often rely on statistics.
So if you know , for example that 60% of population is
businessmen of specific type, and then from statistics of that
type of business you can see that they don't spend most of their
day at home. Then you check if this kind of lifestyle has a
growing tendency trough history ( that ppl tend to spend less and
less time home ) you will not put a large living room in the
house… but you will put a hefty bed room for a nice night of
sleep.

o In the modern era, planning is everything.

o Statistics is one of the crucial parts of planning. Without


statistics, the plan can’t be possible.
o Statistics deals with estimating parameters and testing
hypotheses.
o As I mentioned earlier, statistics is all about the collection
of data
Importance of Statistic in my
Course or Field Of Study
I must say statistics becomes much more relevant in the field of
my study or working for a research lab under the designed and
built environment realm. An example would be conducting research
with residential satisfaction surveys (where you will most likely
be dealing with descriptive stats — mean, median, mode). In more
complex research designs, statistics can also be used to
determine relationships between or among variables such as
walkability index, street patterns, etc.
