INTERNSHIP REPORT

Duration of Internship – 16th February 2021 – 15th march 2021( 1 month)


Department- Designing ( under karuna ma’am)

SUBMITTED TO- MANOJ SHEORAN SIR ( HR TEAM)


• The buyers to whom our team deals with are :- Kohl’s , Belk , Old Navy
and Rauss.
• Buying house :- Li & Fung
• Fabric supplies from :- Vardhaman , Nehru Place , R & P , Arvind Textile
Mills and Shahi fabrics.

• Design Process :- An Inspiration Board cums Direction Board comes from


Buying House/ Buyer’s side. It varies upon season to season. Designers
develop designs according to the Inspiration Board and direction comes
from buyer, budget and the assets of that particular brand. Every brand
has its own assets which we have to keep in mind while designing. After
developing designs we send these to buying house with all the details.
After that desing is approved we do sampling of that particular design
and send it to buying house and buying house send it to the buyer. After
that sample get approve we hand over it to the production merchandiser.
Product Development/ Sampling

• In the process of sampling first of all fabric bundle is over night


deeped in the water. CAD master makes the pattern of any particular
design then a person cut that pattern. After that cutting master trace
the pattern on fabric and cut it. After that it goes to tailors for
stitching purpose. Then it goes to the finishing department for extra
thread cutting and all the finishing work. After that the garment goes
to washing and then pressing. After that QA checks the quality of that
garment. Then that garment is packed and it is sent to buying house.

• Print and texture of fabric
• Costing of fabric
• Stretchability and durability of fabric
• Combination of fabric
• To identify different types of fabrics

• The angle of photography
• Background
• Lights effect
• Garment should be well ironed
• Flatlays and front view photography
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Layers making
• Use of pen tool
• Tracing any design
• Fabric print development
• Putting the texture on any particular style
• Background editing and background changing
Flat Sketches Making/ Free hand sketching

• First of all we draw a simple free hand sketch on paper by pencil. After
that we trace black marker pen on the design for finishing and making
our design bold.
