 MEANING: Also called Web Browser, it’s a software
application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing
information resources on the world wide Web

 BASIC ELEMENTS:
 Back and forward buttons to go back to the previous resource
and forward again.
 A refresh or reload button to reload the current resource.
 A stop button to cancel loading the resource.
 A home button to return to the user's home page
 An address bar to input the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI)
of the desired resource and display it.
 A search bar to input terms into a search engine
 A status bar to display progress in loading the resource

 1991- First web browser, WorldWideWeb, by Tim Berners-
Lee
 Ted nelson and Douglas Engelbart developed the concept of
hypertext, the core of the world wide web
 1993- Introduction of the NCSA mosaic web browser, one of the
first graphical web browsers
 1994- Launch of Netscape navigator, grabbing 90% market
share
 1995- Launch of Microsoft’s internet explorer, taking over the
web browser market
 1996- Opera software launches opera
 1998- Netscape launched what was to become the Mozilla
foundation which eventually evolve into Firefox
 2003- Release of apple’s safari

 Chrome users tend to be those who want the
fastest web experience available. They aren't
worried about features in their browser; but
speed.
 The users of Internet Explorer are mainly in office
computers, schools, and those who just don't go
online enough know about the other browsers.
 Firefox is for those who want the most balanced
web experience; not quite as fast as Chrome
(though certainly not a slouch), but numerous
applications and add-ons that can be incorporated
into the browser.

Choosing any of the three web browsers-
Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome-

To select any one of these we’ll have to keep


in mind our own priorities- speed, security or
universal application,etc.

But one thing is certain, whichever browser is


chosen out of the three, it would be one of
the best browsers for windows 7.
