Anganwadi: Prepared by Ms. Sanjana Bhatia Asst. Professor DPCN, Nadia

Anganwadi centers were established by the Indian government in 1975 to provide childcare and nutrition for children aged 0-6 and mothers. They are managed by Anganwadi workers who are given 4 months of training and oversee a population of around 1000 people. Anganwadi workers weigh children monthly, provide pre-school activities, supplementary nutrition, health education, home visits, and assist with immunization programs. The document outlines population norms for Anganwadi centers and details the revised supplementary nutrition provided to children and mothers as well as the training infrastructure for Anganwadi workers.
