ARRIVAL OF CONSIGNMENT (SHIPMENT)
• Original invoice
• Packing list
• Bill of lading / airway bill
• Certificate of origin
• FTA (Fleet rate agreement) in case of shipment from China, Malaysia and Sri Lanka
• MTCs (Mill test certificate) – Depends on nature of commodity
PORT OF DISCHARGE
• Airports
• Port Qasim
• Karachi Port
Benefits (free demurrage days):
• Port Qasim = 10 working days
• Karachi Port = 5 working days
• Airport = 5 working days
DUTY CALL (BY CLEARING AGENT)
• Clearing agent analyses the commodity with the help of custom tariff.
• Duty is prepaid as per relevant HS code.
• Clearing agent also analyses custom duty free countries who fall under freight rate
agreement (subsidized by government).
• Clearing agent ensures calling all duties from client by same date of IGM.
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY
CLEARING AGENT FOR CLEARANCE OF
SHIPMENT
• Performa invoice
• Original documents (complete shipping documents)
• Valid EIF (Electronic information form)
• Paid PSID slip along with pay orders
START OF CLEARANCE PROCESS
• Submission of duties.
• Timely payment of ETO (Excise taxation officer) (Airport / Sea dues)
• Pay order submission to shipping lines for delivery order charges, container security
deposit, LOLO (lift on lift off) charges.
• Wharf age charges, go down rent to third parties (like Gerry’s, DHL, Royal airport
service, QICT, KPT, PICT)
CUSTOM PROCESS (EXAMINATION)
• Assessment by appraiser.
• Declared amount.
• Assessed amount.
• Additional duty (if any).
• Grounding of shipment in case of any discrepancy.
