Integer Operation
Sum of integers
Example 1: To add two positive integers
Add +3 and +2
For that, first, shifting 2 units to the right from number 0, then shifting again 3 units to the right from number 2. As a result, our
total shift is 5 units from zero.
First, shift 2 units to the right from zero, then shift 3 units to the left. Overall, we shifted 1 unit to the left of zero (-1).
Note: When we add two integers, the symbols attached to the numbers do not change.
Material
Integer subtraction
First shift 3 units to the right from zero, then shift 2 units to the left. As a result, we shift 1 unit to the right from zero.
Note: When we subtract an integer by another integer, we change the sign and then add the two numbers together.
Example:
3 – (+5) = 3 – 5 = -2
(-4) – (-6) = (-4) + 6 = 2
Material
Multiplication of integers
Example: To multiply two integers with the same sign or symbol
When multiplying two integers with the same symbol, we will use absolute values and the result is a positive symbol. Positive x
positive = positive, while Negative x Negative = Positive.
Integer division
Consider the following example:
Atha plans to give 4 dolls to her four friends as a thank you. He has 12 dolls. If distributed evenly, then each friend gets 3 dolls.
This is a division process. From this we know that 12:4 = 3
Introduction
You can give a brief description of the topic you want to
talk about here. For example, if you want to talk about
Mercury, you can say that it’s the smallest planet in the
entire Solar System
