History
 A Bangladesh government agency under the
Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief
responsible for providing relief to FDMN’s in
Bangladesh and plan their eventual repatriation
to Myanmar.
 Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation
Commissioner was established in 1992 when the
first wave of Rohingya refugees, about 250
thousand, arrived from Myanmar.
 The office is located in Cox's Bazar District.
Activity
 Identifying and preserving land for internal roads, drainages,
health posts, hospitals, security check posts, police / ansar
barracks, schools / training centres, conference rooms,
administrative and residential buildings, graveyards, and other
service delivery infrastructures inside the camps and in
collaboration with concerned ISCG sector;
 Coordination of WASH facilities, installation of overhead
electricity lines in the camp area and distribution of tarpaulin /
plastic sheets / tents / food, drinking water, medicine / treatment
supplies, and other relief items among the FDMNs;
 Ensuring security of all humanitarian and emergency service
providers including the Rohingya shelter seekers with the help of
Army and Law enforcing agencies inside the camp;

 Registering and maintenance of records of birth,
death, marriage and divorce of camp dwellers;
 Preparing lists of all government and non-
government agencies working in the camp vicinity
with the contact details of the concerned focal points
and coordinating their activities for avoiding potential

landslide to the safe area within the stipulated time in
collaboration with the Site Management Sector where
necessary;
 Preparing lists of all households (including family
members) of the camp;

 Ensuring that no agency can operate in the camp
without prior approval; and
 Submitting weekly progress reports in weekly
coordination meetings held at the office of the RRRC.

About Forest Department:


Forest Department is a government agency responsible for the protection and
maintenance of forests and wildlife in Bangladesh and is located in
Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh
The forest department was established in 1870 during the British Raj era.
Originally established to look after natural forests, the department started
social forestation in the 1980s. The department is also responsible for
National Botanical Garden of Bangladesh, Forestry Development and
Training Centre, Kaptai, and to Bangladesh Forest College. The total amount
of forest land under the management of the department is 3.617 million
acres. In the 1950s and 1960s the department planted Sal Dhaka, Tangail,
and Mymensingh of Dhaka division. The department also planted Tendu in
Dinajpur. In the 1980s the department planted trees in coastal areas for
protection against cyclones and tides. The department planted trees along
roads, canals, and railways tracks which totaled 94,000 km.

Sustainable Forests & Livelihoods Project (SUFAL)
The Sustainable Forests & Livelihoods Project (SUFAL) aims to improve
forest management and increase benefits for forest dependent communities
in targeted sites by financing nearly 79,000 hectares of forests on public and
private lands, including about 22,000 hectares of coastal green belt across
147 Upazilas (sub-districts). The project will directly benefit about 40,000
forest dependent households – with special emphasis on women and
adolescent girls – by increasing their participation in forest management and
access to diversified income generation options. In addition, about 180,000
people will benefit through involvement in collaborative forest management
activities. The Bangladesh Forest Department will also receive support
through training and skills development opportunities.

The History of Cox’s Bazar district Police :

Cox's Bazar is a tourist city in southeastern Bangladesh. Cox's


Bazar is famous for its natural beauty. It has the longest
uninterrupted natural sandy beach in the world which stretches
for 120 km from Cox's Bazar to Badramokam. In order to
provide security to Cox's Bazar District as a Tourist Town, the
office of the Superintendent of Police was established on
09/05/1984 by a meeting of the District Selection Committee.

An assistant sub-inspector and two constables work

Cox’s Bazar Development Authority ( CoxDA)

• A statutory body created by an Act of


Parliament.
• Prime mission is to undertake full responsibility
to develop Cox’s Bazar, a tourist city.
• CoxDA has been established as the regulatory
body to oversee development of the city and the
areas under its jurisdiction according to a master
plan.
• To build Cox’s bazar as one of the most
attractive tourist spots in South Asia.

Development Authority Act 2016.
• Lt. Colonel (retd) Forkan Ahmad,
LDMC, PSC was appointed as the first
chairman from 14 August 2016.

Members: 19 persons
A) A chairman appointed by the government;
B) Four (four) members appointed by the government
C) Deputy Commissioner, Cox’s Bazar;
D) Police Super, Cox’s Bazar; 
E) An officer of the rank of deputy secretary nominated by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works;
F) An officer of the rank of Deputy Secretary nominated by the Ministry of Land;
G) An officer of the rank of Deputy Secretary nominated by the Ministry of Environment and Forests;
H) A suitable representative of the Ministry of Civil  Aviation and Tourism;
I) Mayor, Cox’s Bazar municipality;
J) Divisional Head, City Zone Planning Division, Chittagong University of Engineering and
Technology; 12
K) Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Cox’s Bazar;
L) An appropriate representative of the local architectural department working in the district of Cox’s
Bazar, designated by the principal architect of the Directorate of Architecture;
M) the President of the Cox’s Bazar Industry and Merchant Association or a representative of the
nominated society; And
N) There shall be three (three) prominent citizens nominated by the government in the area under the
authority of the Authority, of which there shall be no less than one woman.

Functions
1) Formulate and implement the master plan, ensuring the logical use of the land;
2) To conduct master survey and survey, conduct research and collect all
information, data collection and preservation; 
3) Regarding unplanned development of any kind on the land and adopting various
developmental activities related to modern and attractive tourist areas and city
planning; 
4) To implement and implement effective and progressive development plan for
the purpose of establishing and preserving the location of different areas for
constructing residential, commercial, entertainment, industrial or related
infrastructure for the purpose of expanding the housing and housing facilities of
the area under the authority of the tourism industry;
5) To coordinate the planning and implementation of appropriate plans in
consultation with the concerned authorities for the construction of a number of
roads, highways, waterways, railways and seaports for the modern tourist cities
and regions, to facilitate the safe and easy transport of the local and foreign tourists
in Cox’s Bazar district;

6) Control or remove the construction of non-statutory establishments within
the boundaries specified by the authorities in the beach;
7) To take necessary measures for the formulation, implementation and
rehabilitation of the residents of those areas by improving unplanned,
inadequate and sluggish settlement;
8) Planning and adopting development plans keeping the housing, housing for
slum dwellers and prioritizing the problems of homeless;
9) To issue an interim order of development activities for any such area that is
under development project and impose restrictions on changes in the use of
land or change of buildings or deployments for a maximum period of one
year; 
10) To create and maintain various civil facilities under modern and attractive
tourist areas and city planning;

 Rehabilitation of beggars.

Children.
 Sarkari Shishu Paribar.

• One of the largest engineering agencies of the country
• Started its journey in 1962 as Rural Works Program
• In 1984, converted to Local Government Engineering
Bureau(LGEB)
• In 1992, establishment of Local Government
Engineering Department(LGED)

remotest corner of the country up to the cities
