02 - Basis Stator Earth Fault Protection

The document discusses voltages, currents, and logic for detecting earth faults in electrical systems. It explains how voltages and currents are affected by earth faults in different phases. Diagrams show voltage and current vectors during earth faults. The document also discusses using displacement voltage and earth current measurements to locate faults and setting thresholds for protection.

9) 90% Stator Earth Fault Protection

The stator earth fault protection detects earth faults in the stator windings of threephase
phase

10 % of Earth Fault voltage reflected in the NGT Primary = 0.1*11000/1.732

Vp = 635.1 Volts

Vs = 635.1*240/11000

=13.8 Volts with 3 sec Definite time delay goes for trip

Note : The NGT connection is assumed to be 11KV/240V
