1. Introduction
•Elias Snitzer invented the fiber laser in 1961 and demonstrated its use in 1963.Serious commercial
applications only emerged in the 1990s.
•Since then Fiber laser technology has been attracting a great deal of attention due to its numerous
field of diverse applications.
•Currently different Fiber LASER Configurations is able to produce peak power output of 10 th to
100th kilowatts with amazing efficiency.
•Now it’s potentially a substitute for almost all conventional LASERS.
•In fact ,High Power Conventional (Solid state) LASER has limitations in
Gain medium Cooling temperature control
Pump power control which leads to Optical damage
Low loss optimum Cavity designing
Pump coupling & light confinement.
Overall resulted in limited power output, Which are the challenges for producing High Power LASER
from Conventional LASERs.
High Power Fiber LASER OVERCOMES those limitations.
•Therefore, this research work is aimed at formulating a problems either of in the following Topics
1.Design Analysis and Development of High Power Fiber Laser For Various Applications.
2.Design , Analysis and Development of High Power Fiber Laser For High Efficiency

1/30/22 3
3. Motivations
1.Excelling Performance characteristics
• Good beam quality; high stabilities
• Good thermal management.
• High conversion efficiency
• simple operations/maintainance
• Low cost, reliability,
• Broad wavelength Operation range ( semi visible -Near IR – Far IR) currently operates @(400-
4000nm), and more than 4micron in research.
2. Broad Applications
• industrial ( drilling cutting welding), Aerospace, Medical,
• Military like (Tactical, DEW, Operational weapons, communication, navg , guidance& contrl.) ,
• FSOC, Scientific research , Pollution /space cleaning, surface Texturing e.t.c
3. Substituting Technology
• Fiber LASERs are futuristic invading Technology that takes the share of almost all Conventional
Lasers…
• The youngest & fastest growing Technology which will be a part of everyone’s daily Life for
Existing & Emerging Technology .
4. Personnel I & institutional interest.
• Topic of great interest to sustain the required motivation.

• MY Background on solid state Laser
4.Challenges
1. Non linearity for HPFLs due to SRS , SBS, TMI and
power scalability problem @longer wavelength )
• Pumping Configuration Design & Management
• High Power Fiber material selection, development and
fabrication.
• Setting research parameters ,
2. other challenges
• inadequate Resource availability ( research items,
measuring instruments ,lack of facilities ….)
• expertize manpower.
• Research material requirement identification ,order &
delivery delay
