Particle Board: (Low Density Fibreboard - LDF)

Particle board is made from wood chips, shavings or sawdust bonded together with resin under heat and pressure. It is inexpensive, lightweight and environmentally friendly due to its use of recycled wood. Particle board has good thermal and acoustic properties and is easy to work with. However, it has low durability and strength, cannot withstand heavy loads, and may expand with moisture. Manufacturing can also release formaldehyde, a carcinogen. Particle board has various applications including wall panels, partitions, doors, false ceilings and flooring substrates.
