Creating & using a block
5. Select Millimetres from the
Block Unit drop-down list.
4. In the Insertion Point and Rotation groups, turn on the Specify On-
Screen option. With this option turned on, you’re asked to specify an
insertion point using your cursor.
The Scale group options let you scale the block to a different size. You
can scale the block uniformly, or you can distort the block by
individually changing its X, Y, or Z scale factor.
Inserting a block in a new
drawing
Download the AutoCAD file “Door” from Blackboard: Civil Engineering
Communication -> Learning Materials -> AutoCAD Drawing -> Lecture
Presentations -> AutoCAD – Week 22.
In the Block Ribbon panel, click the Insert tool or type I and press Enter.
In the Insert dialog box, click the Browse button to open the Select Drawing
File dialog box. Locate the Door.dwg file and double-click it.
In the Insertion point groups, select Specify on screen and then click Ok.
Modifying a block
The easiest way to unlock and redefine a block is to use the tool
