Syndicate bank makes your dream of owning a
home come true by giving housing loan under
SyndNivas scheme. A person can take loan for
construction or acquisition of house/ flat, land,
acquiring a new house or an old house not more
than 25 years old.

The loan can also be taken for acquisition of


furniture/ fixtures including air conditioners,
geysers, cots, tables, etc which form a part of
improvement or expansion of the home
purchased or constructed out of the housing
loan.
COMPANY PROFILE
Syndicate Bank was established in 1925 in Udupi.

Initial name was Canara Industrial and Banking Syndicate Limited.

Established by three visionaries - Sri Upendra Ananth Pai, a businessman, Sri Vaman
Kudva, an engineer and Dr.T M A Pai, a physician .

Primary Objective:
To extend financial assistance to the local weavers who were crippled by a crisis in
the handloom industry through mobilising small savings from the community.

In the year 1964 the name of the bank was changed to Syndicate Bank Limited and
the head office of the bank was shifted to Manipal.
The first branch of the bank started its operations in the year 1928 at
Brahmavar in Dakshin Kannada District. By 1937, it had secured its
membership as a clearing house at Mumbai.

Currently it has over 2125 branches out of which 1523 are offering
corebanking-e-banking services under anywhere-anytime-anyhow banking.

Syndicate Bank sponsored the first regional rural bank in India by name
Prathama Grameena Bank. The stocks of the Syndicate Bank are listed on
Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, Mangalore Stock
Exchange and Bangalore stock exchange.

award was given to Shri C P Swarnkar, Chairman & Managing Director, Syndicate
Bank by Dr Y.V. Reddy, Hon’ble Governor, Reserve Bank of India on Sept. 02,
2006 at Hyderabad.
