What’s in each paper…


English Language Paper 1- Non-fiction & Transactional writing

Questions 1, 2 & 3 will be on an unseen non-fiction text. Question


4 will be on one of the non-fiction texts from section 1 of the
anthology. Question 5 will be a comparative question between the
unseen text and the anthology text given.

*A copy of the Anthology texts will be provided for you in the exam

You will need to write a comparative essay on two of the poems from section 3 of the
anthology. You will have a choice of two questions: the first choice will specify the two
poems you need to write on and the second choice will give you one poem and you will
need to pick another relevant poem from the anthology in which to compare and contrast
it with.
