 Introduction to 5 Pen PC Technology

• 5 pen pc shortly called as p-ism(“pen-style personal networking gadget package”)

• connected with a wireless technology.
• whole set is connected to internet through cellular phone function.
• this technology enables the ultimate ubiquitous computing
• this pen sort of instrument produces both the monitor as well as the keyboard on any
flat surface from where we can carry out functions, which we normally do on our
desktop.
• people often tend to make quick note of the important thing they came across in the
most traditional method used and still in the use of pen and paper.
• the 5 pen pc technology with digital pen makes it possible to obtain a digital copy of
handwritten information, and have it transferred to digital devices via wireless
technologies like Bluetooth which operates as the main interconnecting device
between different peripherals.
• Bluetooth is utilized wherever on the grounds that it makes simpler to share information or
make associations without wires. The whole set is also coupled to the internet which
makes communication even more easy and efficient.

• 5 pen pc technology has five major parts: CPU pen, Communication pen, LED projector ,
Digital Camera and Virtual keyboard . It is also known as P-ISM.

• A pc that works as an electronic pen is known as stylus as opposed to a console for input. This 5
PEN PC are hand held devices and they are too tiny size keyboard.

• For taking contribution from the client, it will utilize the camera or a virtual console that is made
on level surfaces and it also makes utilization of(EPT).An EPT is a minimal effort chip and it
will make a laser or lighting that empowers electronic parts to frame a 3-D guide of their
environment and see what their clients are doing .
 History

• “Pen-style personal networking gadget package” created in 2003 by

Japanese technology company NEC.
• This technology was designed by Tour Ichihashi.
• It is basically an innovation made in the field of computer in
association to the communication field.
• P-ism was first featured at the 2003 ITU telecom world held in Geneva ,
Switzerland.

  In this paper, the conceptual frame work and innovation into pen-style personal network gadget
package (p-ism) as inevitable tool to easy, fast and convenient access to the internet. Computing
activities have increased the degree of people using personal computers (pcs), complicated packages
and all form of social media applications (apps.) Have emerged within this short period. Meeting these
trends (day to day activities) in more convenient form has led to the modern sophisticated garget such
as pen-style network gadget package (P-ISM) prototype. With the exponential increase in internet
users, it can be attested to that major progresses have been made by scientists and engineers in breaking
the communication barriers via modern day technologies. Ironically, the more difficult the activities of
humans are, the more challenged are scientists and engineers in coming up with new and sophisticated
technology capable of addressing the challenges. The rise in availability of internet has mad the world a
global village and has enable sharing of knowledge by scientist on the best possible way to resolving
and supporting fellow partners in getting viable and possible solutions to the challenges faced by
humans.

• Virtual keyboard

Working:
• A computer that utilizes an electronic pen called a stylus rather than keyboard for input .
pen computers generally require special operating systems that supports for handwriting
recognition so that users can write on the screen on a tablet instead of typing on keyboard.
Most pen computers are hand held devices which are too small in size.

• P-ism consists of 5 pen that all have unique functions combining together to create a
virtual computing experience by producing both monitor and keyboard on any flat surfaces
from where we can carry out functions that we can normally do on our desktop computer.

• P-ism has five pen devices in which each device is connected with CPU pen. Camera pen is
connected with projector pen to establish communication between camera and display unit.
Projector pen is connected with virtual keyboard pen so that keystrokes can be made visible
on display. All components are connected by Bluetooth 802.11 b/g. Sometimes devices are
also connected using wi-fi technology. The whole set is connected to the internet through
cellular phone function.

CPU Pen:
• The functionality of the CPU is finished by a single of the pen.
• It is also known as a computing machine.
• It consists of dual-core processor embedded in it and it works with windows operation system.
• The central processing unit (CPU) is the part of a computer system that carries out the
information of a computer program and is the key element carrying out the computer's
function.
• The control unit does not execute program commands; fairly, it directs other parts of the
system to do so. The control unit must communicate with both the arithmetic/logic unit and
memory.
• They can implement information exchange capabilities within the designs of the blue tooth .
Communication Pen:
• Wireless Bluetooth technology.
• Connected to internet through cellular phone function.
• Uses wi-fi technology
• Exchange information with wireless connection
• It acts as a cell phone, pointer, ear- piece, communication using Bluetooth and uses wi-
fi technology for the exchange of information.
LED Projector:
• Monitor is LED projector.
• Size is a4.
• Resolution capacity is 1024x768 approx.
• It given more clarity and good picture.

Virtual Keyboard:
• Virtual laser keyboard is a new gadget.
• It emits laser on desk.
• User laser beam to generate full-size perfect keyboard.
• VKB settings can be changed.
Digital Camera:
• It is useful in video recording , video conferencing
simply as a webcam.
• Connected with other devices.
• Portable.
• 360 degree visual communication device.

Battery:
• Its is the most important part in the portable type of computers.

• Usually batteries are small in size and work for long time.

• It comes with a battery life of 6+

• For normal use it can be used for 2 weeks.

Applications:
 Authentication:
• Security: the greatest concern by all end users in any newly introduced gadget is the
security features. How well the system or machine designed would protect
confidentiality.
• 5 pen pc has a e fingerprinting that makes a gadget more secure which enable just
proprietor to access the pc. So even if we lose it, no one else can access the gadget.
• Security is maintained by providing an id proof of an owner and finger print scanner
already installed in a pen.
• 5pen has a unique security features that made it one of the most secured portable
devices. The e-fingerprint mechanism matches user biometric data with the database
before granting authorization. The technology is not just portable, is efficient, and user
friendly. It doesn’t require tedious training before using it.
Advantages:

• It will take less internal and external space.

• Mobility.
• Touch and feel the technology.
• The size and weight will be a lot less and it can potentially cost less as it will use
less material.
• It can decrease crime level as the pen is less visible and it’s easier to take it out with
you.
• Portable and feasible
• Makes use of wi-fi technology
• It’s easier to handle and use.
• Ubiquitous computing is done
• It produces both monitor and keyboard on any flat surface.
Disadvantages:

 Cost.
 Easily misplaced.
 As the gadget is very costly the consumer cannot afford to purchase them.
 This 5 pen pc is very small in size they can be easily damaged and stolen by anyone which
could cost a lot. Each pen cost a lot and it is not affordable by everyone.
 It works on wireless technologies and therefore it has limits of range.
 It is exorbitantly expensive.
 
Conclusion:
• We can see that the 5 pen pc technology is one of the advanced portable pc that is easy
to carry even in our pockets and work with it any where we want. We can expect more
such developments in future. Due to the usage of such smaller communication devices
the space can be reduced. Those devices can be easily shifted from one place to other
anywhere in the world. Hence they are portable. We can use those devices at anytime
and anywhere. The pen navigation system is very unique and there would be a great
demand in the market for a product like this.
