The maps show the current layout of the town center of Islip and plans for its development. Overall, the principal change will be the construction of a ring road around the center to divert traffic away from the pedestrianized main road. The shops along the north side of the new pedestrian street will be demolished to make way for new buildings like a bus station and shopping center, while the park will be reduced in size for new housing development.
