What is a Geothermal Powerplant?
• Geothermal energy is a type of energy derived from heat, which is
stored and formed underground. Heat energy is what sets the
temperature of an object. The geothermal energy of the earth's crust
comes from the original formation of the planet, and from the
radioactive boiling of matter.
• are used in order to generate electricity by the use
of geothermal energy (the Earth's internal thermal energy)
What are the 3 ways of Geothermal
Powerplant?
There are 3 ways of doing the Geothermal Poweplant
1. Dry steam - the oldest geothermal technology, takes steam out of fractures in the
ground and uses it to directly drive a turbine.
2. Flash - plants pull deep, high-pressure hot water into cooler, low-pressure water.
3. Binary - cycle power plant is a type of geothermal power plant that allows
cooler geothermal reservoirs to be used than is necessary for dry steam and flash
steam plants.
How thus Geothermal Powerplant works?
5 steps to do in Geothermal Powerplant. These are:
1. Hot water is pumped from deep underground through a well under high pressure.
2. When the water reaches the surface, the pressure is dropped, which causes the water to
turn into steam.
3. The steam spins a turbine, which is connected to a generator that produces electricity.
4. The steam cools off in a cooling tower and condenses back to water.
5. The cooled water is pumped back into the Earth to begin the process again.
How can we encourage our barangay to know the benefits of
Geothermal Powerplant?
3. Letthem make the right decisions to join or participate in the event of the
barangay
