The Abundance of Grace
THE ABUNDANCE OF
GRACE
Tell us about your favorite movie. What do you
like about it?
CONNE What is one bad habit you wish you can break?
CT Why?
Who is one of the most gracious people you
know? Recall a specific instance explaining this.
For if, by the trespass of the one
man, death reigned through that one
man, how much more will those who
WORD receive God’s abundant provision of
grace and of the gift of
righteousness reign in life through
the one man, Jesus Christ. Romans
5:17
The Christian should not live a life of constant
oppression, depression, and hopelessness.
Because God has given the abundance of His
WHAT grace, we can reign over whatever adverse
circumstances come our way. Because of His
grace, we can and should live victorious lives in
Christ. Following are four benefits of God’s
grace in our lives.
1. We are saved by grace.
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of
God—9not by works, so that no one can boast.
WHAT Ephesians 2:8,9 (See also Romans 11:6.)
The victorious Christian life begins when we accept
that salvation is only by the grace of God, not by
our good works. Grace means we are saved because
of what God did for us, not what we do for Him.
What did God do for us that ensures our salvation?
What did we do for God to deserve salvation?
2. We can overcome weakness through grace.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
WHAT Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about
my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest
on me. 2 Cor. 12:9
What are your weaknesses? How has God’s
grace been sufficient? What does “sufficient”
mean?
3. We can have victory over sin through grace.
For sin shall not be your master, because you are
not under law, but under grace. Romans 6:14
11For the grace of God that brings salvation has
WHAT appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say “No” to
ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-
controlled, upright and godly lives in this present
age. Titus 2:11,12
What is a “master?” Why should sin not be our
master? Who is our master?
What does grace teach us to say “no” to?
4. All our needs can be met through grace.
And God is able to make all grace abound to
