Investigations On End Milling of CFRP Composite Using Router Tools
Investigations On End Milling of CFRP Composite Using Router Tools
STUDENT NAMES
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Abrasive wear occurs on the cutting tool during CFRP machining leads to
shortening of tool life, thereby damaging surface quality of CFRP laminates.
OBJECTIVES
• To investigate the effect of cutting parameters and to optimize the cutting
parameters to achieve the desired surface quality.
LITERATURE SURVEY
CFRP- Fibre Orientation
M.H. El-Hofy et al., 2011
Wavy surfaces were observed at 45 oriented plies.
90 and 135 oriented plies suffered matrix cracking.
The best surface was found on plies where the fibres were parallel to
the tool feed/cutting direction (0).
