1. Clarity
An effective communication must be clear of what one wants to say
that purpose of communication should be very much clear to
communicator.
Features of Communication are:
a. It makes understanding easier
b. Complete clarity of thoughts and ideas enhances the meaning of
message
2. Completeness
The communication must be complete. It should convey all the facts required
by audience. The subject matter to be communicated must be adequate and
full.
Features of a complete communication
a. Complete communication develops and enhances reputation of an
organization.
b. They are cost saving; as no crucial information is missing and no additional
cost is incurred in conveying extra message if the communication is
complete.
c. C. Complete communication helps in better decision making by
Audience/reader/receiver.

3. Conciseness
Conciseness means wordiness, in order words, to convey in least
possible words. The receiver of the communication is not impressed by
the length of the message.
Features
a. It is both time saving an cost saving.
b. Concise communication provides short and essential message in
limited words to the audience.
c. Concise message in non-repetitive in nature.
4. Consideration/coherence
In order to communicate effectively the sender should think and look
from the receiver angle. Ensure that the respect of the audience is
maintained and their emotions are not at harm. Modify your words in
message to suit the audience needs while making message complete.

a. Emphasize on ‘YOU’ approach
b. Empathize with the audience and exhibit interest in the audience.

5. Concreteness
Concrete communication implies being particular and clear rathe than
fuzzy and jumble. In concrete communication sender convey “to the
point” or factual message.

For effective communications, the sender should not transmit any
message unless he/she is sure of its correctness. There should be no
grammatical error in communication.

7. Courtesy
Courtesy means a friendly and helpful behavior towards others. The
message of the sender should be polite and reflective.

as feeling of the receiver

c. It makes use of the terms showing respect for the receiver of the
