MANAGERS/DIRECTORS
■ HOTEL MANAGER- The Hotel Manager is responsible for overseeing all staff and
functions within the Hotel, Galley, and Bar departments which include guest cabins,
laundry, dining room service, bar, Global Market, lounge and the galley.
■ FRONT DESK MANAGER- Directly supervises all front desk personnel and ensures
proper completion of all front office duties. Directs and coordinates the activities of the
front desk, reservations, guest services, and telephone areas.
■ FOOD AND BEVERAGE DIRECTOR- Directs and oversees all aspects of the
vessel’s Food & Beverage (F&B) planning and service, with duties to include menu
execution and cost control, preparation and presentation of food and drinks, and
adherence to quality and safety standards
■ CASINO MANAGER- Oversees and supervises all training programs within the
casino operations department in order to improve the casino personnel current
performance
■ RESTAURANT OPERATIONS MANAGER- The Restaurant Operations Manager’s
primary function is to guarantee a smooth and efficient operation of all dining outlets on
board.
STEWARDS
■ CHIEF STEWARD- The "Chief Steward" supervises and coordinates activities of the
Galley Stewarding team and maintains kitchen supplies and equipment. He/she inspects
kitchens, wash areas, galley equipment for cleanliness.
■ ASSISTANT CHIEF STEWARD- Responsible for all Housekeeping related activities in
Guest staterooms, Suites, corridors, pantries and Public areas back and front of house.
Lead and support a team of Cabin steward\ess.
■ CABIN STEWARD- A cabin steward on a cruise ship is the person responsible for
cleaning and maintaining your stateroom during your cruise.
■ BAR STEWARD- Serves beverages to guests; Takes drink orders from guests.
■ BUFFET STEWARD- The Buffet Steward is responsible for taking orders and serving
food and beverages to both passengers and ship's officers and staff members.
■ DECK STEWARD- The Deck Steward is Responsible for the set-up, maintenance &
breakdown of deck equipment & other guest amenities that are related to the position.
OTHER POSITIONS
■ RECEPTIONIST- Helps guests complete registration cards and assigns rooms,
accommodating special requests whenever possible.
■ NATURALIST- Naturalist provide cruise ship passengers with detailed and interesting
information about geographic areas.
■ SHORE EXCURSIONS STAFF- Shore Excursions Staff is responsible for the
promotion, selling and dispatching of shore excursions offered in the various ports of
call.
■ CASINO DEALER- A casino dealer runs the games of chance in gaming settings, as
he interacts with players, explains the odds and methods of play.

QUALIFICATIONS

ON A CRUISE
To work on a cruise ship, you must meet the following basic
requirements:

• Be at least 18 or 21 years old


• Meet the language fluency requirements
• Have a valid passport
• Have the required visa or work permit
• Have a basic safety training certificate
• Pass a medical examination
• Pass a criminal background check
• Have no visible tattoos or piercings
