Find the subset of the following universal
set:

Integrated School.
Write the subset of the following
sets and determine its
cardinality:

2. O = {E, X, O}
3. S = {3, 6, 9, 12}
4. E = {m, a, t, h}
5. D = {0, 2, 4, 6, 8}
END
FINITE OR INFINITE?

G = { x | x is a day of the week }

Well-defined sets
vs. not well-defined sets

• a well-defined set clearly indicates what is a member of the

set and what is not. There is a definite element.
Example: “the set of even numbers from 1 to 10”

• not well-defined sets are open to interpretation. There is no

clear the description of a set. There are different possible
