Project title: “GULAYAN SA TAHANAN SAGIP-KALUSUGAN
PARA SA KABATAAN” (GTSKK) Project Objectives: 1.To decrease the number of severely wasted students and improve their nutritional status even at home or at school when face to face classes are allowed in this time of pandemic. 2.To sustain the Gulayaan sa Paaralan Program of the campus for the benefit of the learners. Project “PLANT: Planting crops and vegetables for Learners Acquisition of Nutrition using new Techniques” Project Objectives & Targets Raise a vegetable and crop garden at school and at home for students acquisition of right nutrition. It also helps learners realize the essence of planting nutritious and healthy foods. Date of Monitoring Year round Accomplishments/ Status to Date Lush vegetable garden with variety of crops and vegetables Issues/Problems/ Challenges Weather, pests and volcanic eruption threat Recommendations/ Action Points Maintain the school / home garden plants and crops. Project “ORGANIC : Organic Materials for Right Gardening And Natural Integration of Biodegradable Wastes for a Lush Garden and Pesticides for Pest Control” Promote the use of natural or organic fertilizers and pesticides from biodegradable wastes such as fruits and vegetable peels and animal manure. Year round Naturally produced carbon containing fertilizers and pesticides enough to sustain plants Presence of low level of nutrients Use more fruits, vegetable peels and biodegradable materials. Project “DEEP : Developing and Maintaining Compost Pit and Heap for an Effective Enhancement of Crops and Vegetable Plants” Maintain and develop compost pit and heap for a continuous supply of organic fertilizers. Year round Functional and productive compos pit/heap Excess moisture that causes foul odors and production of harmful substance to plants Secure heap and pit from stray animals. Project “LUPA: Land Utilization and Preparation for Agriculture” Utilize spaces and convert available areas at school or at home to vegetable garden for the Gulayan sa Paaralan / Bakuran. Year round Fertile soil that contains all the major nutrients for basic plant nutrition Inadequate space for a garden Maintain soil fertility. Project “Healthy Foods for Healthy Body and Minds” Provide learners crops and vegetables from school and home vegetable garden produce. Year round Improved nutritional status of severely wasted students Assurance in the production of garden produce Secure the productivity of the vegetable gardens. Project “MAXICARE GPP: MAXimizing Community’s Action in REjuvenating GPP” Seek help from community and develop camaraderie through support and linkage. Year round Donated vegetable seeds, 2 seedling trays and 20 bags organic fertilizers Awareness of other parts community about linkage to school programs Conduct a symposium about school – community linkgae THANK YOU
